Russian Philology (Russian Language and Literature)

Philology students receive fundamental training in the field of Russian language and literature: they immerse themselves in their history, study the current state, observe trends in development; master the methodology of teaching in high school. The projects “Read on” and “Slavic Club” are developing successfully and will not let you get bored. Many of the study subjects are of applied nature and aimed at expanding the sphere of professional activity: the basics of museum and archival work, creating and editing text, dialectology and linguistics. Students of philology study in close contact with foreign students from many countries of Asia and Africa; long-standing business (courses, internships) and friendly relations connect IvSU with the University of Passau (Germany) and the University of South Bohemia (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic). Every year in September, students of these universities and universities of Serbia, Turkey, and Finland come to Russian language courses and internships.
